Donna Booth Wins as The Lanimer Cup Returns to Lanark Tennis Club

Lanark Tennis Club was delighted to welcome back The Lanimer Cup today, marking the return of a much-loved competition for the first time in decades.

The event was held as part of Lanimer Week in Lanark, bringing together players and supporters for a special day of tennis, friendship and celebration. Played as a 1pt Slam tournament, the format created a fast-paced and entertaining competition, with every point counting and plenty of excitement throughout the day.

Congratulations to Donna Booth, who was crowned Lanimer Cup winner after a fantastic performance. Donna played with great consistency and determination to come through the tournament and lift the trophy.

Well done also to Gayle Leatt, who finished as runner-up after an excellent run to the final. Gayle contributed to a great contest and helped make the return of the competition a memorable occasion.

The trophy was presented to Donna by Kenny Lean, former Lord Cornet, adding a fitting Lanimer connection to the day.

It was a proud moment for Lanark Tennis Club to see The Lanimer Cup return to the club calendar after so many years. Thank you to everyone who helped organise the event, took part, supported from the sidelines and contributed to such a positive and enjoyable day.

Lanark Tennis Club looks forward to building on the success of this year’s event and continuing to celebrate tennis as part of Lanimer Week in the years ahead.

Well done Donna, and congratulations to everyone involved in bringing The Lanimer Cup back to life.
